It's been a full week and I've seen so much of the interesting state of West Virginia. I was out of my element in the beginning but by the end of the week I had made friendships stronger and made many new friends as well as giving back to the community. The picture above is from a mountain top removal site, where we did a little bit of trespassing but the image we saw was something more devastating than any of the people on the trip could have expected. That grey and brown area of rock should be 400 feet taller and still should contain the tons of coal it used to hold. The mountain was blown up with dynamite, literally taking off the entire point of the mountain. The image was startling and really opened up a lot of people's eyes to something some people didn't even know about. Something I did gain though that I could have passed on is that I did get burned…a lot. I got second degree burns on my arms and legs, which are making me even more exhausted than I thought I would be. So I'm currently wrapped and bandaged and on my way to a recovery where I'll be able to get back out into the music world and get out there next week for Warped Tour 2010. I'm making preparations to deliver the best pictures and videos of all your favorite artists. If you have a recommendation make sure to let me know, only 8 days left til the big day. And make sure to always come back here for daily content on all things music.
