Chelsea’s Playlist for When You’re Home Sick

Kleenex

Everyone gets sick at some point or another. And this week I have been plagued by the flu. So while I have been staying home, sleeping, sniffling, and trying to catch up on school work I also managed to have enough time to put together a home sick playlist. It's basically a collection of songs you can still listen to when you're head in pounding and all you can do is sleep and listen to what's around you.

  3. Jasey Rae (acoustic) -All Time Low
  4. Heartbreak World-Matt Nathanson
  5. 1000 Miles-Vanessa Carlton
  6. Beautifully-Jay Brannan
  7. You Found Me-The Fray
  8. She (For Liz)-Parachute
  9. Curve Of The Earth-Matt Nathanson
  10. Getaway Car-My Favorite Highway
  11. Stay With Me Tonight-Houston Calls

The Friday Night Boys Call It Quits

Friday night boys

http://fueledbyramen.tumblr.com/post/1269324529/the-friday-night-boys-break-up-after-three-and-a

The guys from The Friday Night Boys are calling it quits after a great three year run of being a band. The four popular boys took to the Fueled By Ramen blog to break their news to their undoubtedly upset fans. Signede by lead singer Andrew Goldstein he explains that the boys will be splitting off into solo projects of some sort but as a band The Friday Night Boys are done.

The blog:

"After three and a half years as band, The Friday Night Boys are officially splitting up. Many of you know that things don’t always go the way they are originally planned, but it is a decision we all agreed upon. However, I would like to take note of the positive experiences we had as a band, as well as with fans and friends.

We would like to thank all of the people that took the time to listen to our music, come to our shows, buy our merch, and talk to us. You all made flying down a highway at 4am pounding red bulls in a puttering old van much easier and enjoyable. Especially those of you who saw us time and time again all over the country. It was an honor to see your familiar faceswhenever and where ever we showed up. The lovely FNB fans brought us all the Cheez Its, cookies, cupcakes and gummy wormswe could eat! I think I’m good on those foods for a few years at least. So thank you.

We were able to live our dreams because of you. We would also like to thank our label, managers, friends, other bands, and family for being so supportive and helping us in every way.

So what’s next? Chris will be releasing solo material that you all should check out. Mike is releasing a project called Time Travel, and the first show is November 2nd at the Ottobar. Robby will be performing with him as well as working in a congressman’s office and playing music in other capacities. I currently do not have plans of releasing a solo project or playing in a band anytime soon, however, I am writing and producing for other artists and bands. I’ll let you all know what’s up on Twitter.

We would like to offer special prices for everyone to pick up our remaining merch. Head to The Fueled By Ramen Webstore to get t-shirts for $5 and hoodies for $15 through October 18th. We will also give out an autographed copy of “Off The Deep End” to a random customer each day during the sale! Thank you all for the support you have given us over the years!

Today Ke$ha posted a NEW version of her music video for her single Take It Off, you know, the song that is on the radio 24/7.

In the video description Ke$ha writes,

"heyy to all my fans! sooooo….me n my friends were bored and we were really channeling some 80s hard (tron, david bowie in labrynth, revenge of the nerds) and we made this new video for take it off. it was really fun to make. i hope you guys like it!!!!!"

Still trying to decide which version we like better, but its obvious Ke$ha had a lot more fun making this version.

A Taste of The Virgin Free Fest

On Saturday September 25th Merriwether Post Pavilion was alive with the sounds and cheers of 20,000 people all seeing 18 bands for absolutely free. The fifth annual Virgin Mobile Festival was held this year under the slogan, "let free ring" and by making the festival free, it meant there were going to be some fantastic sponsors. Of course there were Virgin Mobile phones you could test out as well as a "text to get your fortune" throne, complete with fortune teller. Personally my favorite sponsor was the Skatepark of Baltimore ramp and tent. If you made a small donation you'd get ice cold water and avoid the $4 water sold by the venue but you could also watch skateboarders in action, displaying their talent for 20,000 people who passed by.

The real reason everyone was there though was not for the sponsors, it was for the music. At Free Fest there was something for everyone. Rappers, Rockers, Techno, Easy Listening, it was there and all spread out during the ongoing festival.

Since the line-up was first announced I knew that I had to see Joan Jett live, because who knows when I'd ever get this chance again. During her performance some people criticized her entrance, or lack there of. A few people were turned off by the fact that at the beginning of her set, all she did was run on stage and tune her guitar before she began to play. This moment however was one of my favorite parts because it showed how down to earth she really is. I was a little concerned about how Joan would sound due to her age, but all worry vanished when she began to sing her first song, Bad Reputation. If I got anything out of the day it was seeing Joan Jett for a set that only comes around once in a lifetime.

So, that was my take on the fantastic day at the Virgin Mobile Free Festival. Stay tuned and you'll hear dad's take on the day.

Spoiler Alert: He's going to talk about Chromeo A LOT
